Your car might be locked — but that doesn't necessarily mean everything inside it is secure.

🔎 Did you know?

Even an empty bag, coat or shopping bag left inside a vehicle can potentially attract attention because someone looking through the window doesn't know whether it contains anything valuable.

An offender may only discover there's nothing worth taking after breaking into the vehicle.

🚗 Our tip: Don't leave anything on display, even if you don't consider it valuable.

Before walking away, check:

🔒 Is the vehicle locked? 👀 Can anything valuable be seen? 👜 Have bags, coats or other items been removed? 🔑 Are your keys secure and out of sight? 📱 Have you remembered to take electronic devices with you?

And if you have a keyless vehicle, consider additional security measures such as a Faraday pouch where appropriate.

Don't give an opportunist a reason to stop and look.
